Bau Bang well taps potential for industrial development

After six years of reestablishment, Bau Bang district has reached positive changes to be able to become one of centers in flexible industrial development of the province and the southern key economic zone.

Well tapping potential

With a favorable position, Bau Bang district has a lot of advantageous conditions for industrial development. The People’s Committee of the district has concentrated on making the local overall plan on socio-economic development till 2025 in order to realize a target of becoming one of urban-industrial hubs in the northern region of the province. As planned, the district will bend on shifting the local economic structure towards industrial manufacture, trade-services and agriculture with focus on industrial manufacture, which is seen as a spearheading sector, promoting the local urban, service and agricultural development.

The district is now home to four industrial parks (Ips), namely Bau Bang, Cay Truong, Lai Hung and Tan Binh, which is considered as a highlight in industrial development. The district will also promote the local infrastructure system with focus on building a traffic network connecting with localities in the region…

Under the local program on sustainable industrial development, the district has continued realizing industrial land development planning. Accordingly, the district expanded Bau Bang and Tan Binh IPs by 1,000 hectares and 352.5 hectares, respectively. In the coming time, the district will put focus on hastening the progress of construction of expanded Cay Truong and Lai Hung  Ips by  700 hectares and 600 hectares approved by the Government, respectively. It is expected that once being put into operation, the expanded Cay Truong, Lai Hung, Tan Binh Ips will bring the district’s total land for industrial development to more than 3,343 hectares.

Effectively taking solutions

After five years of implementing the Resolution of the local Party congress for the 2015-2020 tenure, the district has reached stability in economic development with economic structure shifted in the right direction. The district’s industrial production value during the 2015-2019 period gained the average growth of 19.41%.

Le Khac Tri, Chairman of the district’s People’s Committee said that in the coming time, the district will further carry out support policies for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMSEs) under the instruction of the province; strengthen investment promotion into Ips; fulfill compensation and site clearance for the implementation of the My Phuoc-Bau Bang main street, the expanded Bau Bang IP…In addition, the district will concentrate on compensation-site clearance for projects, namely the North Tan Uyen-Phu Giao-Bau Bang main street, the Cay Truong IP, the Lai Hung IP…Along with this, with a target of clean industrial development, the district has given priority to large-scale projects in fields in line with the development plans of the province and the locality; restricted industrial development outside industrial parks and compounds.

The district will also selectively absorb investment projects; brace up auxiliary industries for the local industrial development; promote investment projects with new technologies… Possibly speaking, if tapping the local advantages, Bau Bang district will become one of hubs for flexible industrial development of the province and the southern key economic zone.

The district has also set some targets on socio-economic development, national defence-security in 2020. Particularly, the district will strive to get the growth of 22%-23%, 24%-25%, 4%-5% in industrial production value, total retail sales revenue and agricultural production, respectively. The district’s total State budget collection will be more than VND1.05trillion while total State budget spending will be VND781billion.
