Binh Duong ranked third with 51.3 points, compared with this year's average score 23.1 points. The gap in e-commerce index between the two economic centers of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and the remaining provinces is very large. According to Provincial Department of Industry and Trade, Vietnam's e-commerce index is compiled from three component indexes, including human resources and information technology infrastructure, e-commerce transactions between businesses and consumers (B2C) and e-commerce transactions between businesses (B2B). In particular, Binh Duong ranked 6th in the HR and IT index, ranked third in B2C index and B2B index.
Phan Thi Khanh Duyen, Deputy Director of ProvincialDepartment of Industry and Trade, said that e-commerce has become an inevitable trend, among Binh Duong's development priorities. Recently, Binh Duong has established a Digital Transformation Center, said Le Tuan Anh, Director of Department of Information&Communication, said the birth of the center is an important step in the province's digital transformation. He believes that, with the efforts and determination of the center, along with the close coordination of departments, branches, and localities, the center will complete assigned functions and tasks, contributing to making Binh Duong the leading province in digital transformation in the region. In 2024, Vecom will continue to perfect the calculating method of e-commerce index, in addition to calculating based on business survey results, also using many other reliable quantitative information channels. The national domain name ".VN" continues to be the most important factor in evaluating e-commerce infrastructure.
