Ben Cat’s Veterans’ Society excels at poverty reduction

Ben Cat district’s Veterans’ Society and its affiliates have so far mobilized members to contribute more than VND2.3bln to their fund and provided 235 members with loan with low interest rates. They have also coordinated with the local Bank for Social Policy to provide more than VND4bln in loan for production and business.

Besides, in the first half of 2013, the district’s Veterans’ Society generated jobs for more than 200 laborers, contributing to eradicating poverty among members. There are now 1,592 members with well-off living standard, 732 with medium living standard and 2 poor members or 0.08% of total.

At the recent conference partially summing up its activities in the first half of 2013, the district’s Veterans’ Society has set up some tasks from now till the end of the year, including reaching 95% of outstanding members; gaining 95% of pure and strong sub-societies; striving to have 95% of households of members with the title of “cultural family”.
