BIFA Wood 2018: Another opportunity for woodwork enterprises in Binh Duong to develop

The ongoing Binh Duong International Fair on Woodworking Machinery and Wood Materials 2018 (Bifa Wood 2018) is a chance for province-based woodwork enterprises to exchange, promote trade activities, purchase the state-of-the-art production lines at their development needs.

Participating enterprises

Huynh Quang Thanh, former President of Binh Duong Furniture Association (BIFA) said that Binh Duong is the “woodwork capital” of the whole country, significantly contributing to the country’s wood export turnover. To actually become a woodwork hub of the country, BIFA needs to organize international fairs so that the local woodwork sector will fly further. The BIFA Wood 2018 is organized at the expectation of the local woodwork business community.

Tran Van Phuc, Director of Toan Chau Co.Ltd., a unit participating in the BIFA Wood 2018 from HCM city said that Binh Duong’s woodwork sector has gradually affirmed its trademark in the foreign market. Organizing woodwork fairs with large scale like the BIFA Wood Fair needs to be maintained regularly. This not only helps woodwork enterprises to approach new production technologies, but also gets more opportunities to promote their trade activities.

The ongoing Bifa Wood 2018 absorbs 780 booths from 70 domestic enterprises and 150 foreign ones from the U.S, Europe, China, South Korea, Japan…With the participation of numerous domestic and foreign businesses, the prestige of BIFA continues being improved.

According to BIFA President Dien Quang Hiep, the total export turnover of the country’s woodwork sector is likely to reach US$9billion this year towards the Prime Minister’s goal of gaining US$20billion in export value by 2025. Along with displaying woodworking machinery and wood materials, the BIFA Wood 2018 is a venue for enterprises to know more about export-import policies, trends of the sector in the global market.

Innovating technologies for better development

Over the past time, province-based woodwork enterprises were proactive to take part in fairs on woodworking machinery and wood materials from countries in the region and Europe, aiming to get access to the state-of-the-art technologies for better development. Some being in the vanguard in improving production technologies include Lam Viet Company, Hiep Long Company…

Luu Phuoc Loc, Head of the organizing board of the BIFA Wood 2018 asserted that the woodwork sector of the whole country in general and of Binh Duong in particular is on sharp growth. To further maintain the growth momentum, enterprises need to attach special importance to innovating production technologies in order to increase labor productivity, which is seen as a decisive factor for development in the fourth industrial revolution.

Meanwhile, Tran Van Hai, Director of Binh Duong- Dai Phuc Vinh Company branch said that not only great woodwork enterprises, small ones also need to improve their production methods to ensure goods delivery time. The company’s annual revenue from supplying machines, equipment to woodwork enterprises in the province is estimated at hundreds of billions of dong.

Possibly speaking, the successful organization of the BIFA Wood 2018 will contribute to enhancing the prestige of Binh Duong, which is known as the “wood capital” of the whole country. Mr.Loc added that Bifa will continue periodically holding woodwork fairs, thereby contributing to raising the competitiveness of the local woodwork sector.
