To begin the conference, Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly delegation, emphasized that as implementing the Party's innovation policy and the industrialization, modernization of the country, generations of leaders of Binh Duong province have inherited the development achievements of Song Be province, focused on leading the political system and people from all walks of life to unite with one heart and uphold determination to realize the aspiration to build and develop Binh Duong rapidly, sustainably, civilized, and prosperously. After more than 25 years of persistent efforts, Binh Duong achieved comprehensive results in all fields.

Nguyen Van Loi said that Binh Duong was chosen by the Central Government to summarize development models, as a typical model of local development at the provincial level in Vietnam during the innovation period, contributing to the task of summarizing the country's 40 years of innovation and providing arguments for documents of the 14th Party Congress. “We realize that this scientific conference has a particularly important meaning for Binh Duong. This conference will analyze and evaluate the achieved results, point out limitations, weaknesses and causes in the development process of Binh Duong over the past 25 years. In particular, the conference will help the province determine its vision, goals, key directions, strategic breakthroughs and development motivation until 2050...", the Provincial Party Secretary emphasized.

Convergence and crystallization of creative ways

Speaking at the opening, Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, emphasized that this is a meaningful event, following the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Binh Duong province, to spread excitement, pride, trust and arouse the desire for development. In particular, the conference is also an opportunity for Binh Duong to share unique experiences and local development practices, serving to summarize 40 years of carrying out the country's renovation process, preparing for draft documents to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress.

"We can have different ways of understanding, viewing and evaluating the development model of a locality. However, the development miracles that Binh Duong achieved today are certainly not simply the application result of an abstract theoretical model. In essence, this is the convergence and crystallization of good experiences, creative and specific ways of doing things that have been summarized and tested to be correct from Binh Duong's development practice over more than a quarter of a century; hence it can become a model for other localities to refer to and apply...", Nguyen Xuan Thang stated.

At the conference, scholars and administrators focused on discussing and deepening some key issues, namely analyzing and clarifying theoretical and practical issues about the development model at provincial level in the national innovation process; From Binh Duong's development practice, clarify the connotation and portray the province's development model; point out the problems facing this model when Binh Duong enters a new stage of development; propose perspectives and development orientations of the province until the mid-21st century; contribute to the development of a draft document submitted to the 12th Provincial Party Congress... In addition, the presentations and discussions also analyzed and clarified the development model, good lessons, and innovative ways of Binh Duong, studied conditions and possibilities of application to other localities in the country; contributing to providing scientific basis for perfecting the theory of innovation policies and developing draft documents to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress.

At the end of the conference, Nguyen Xuan Thang said that the opinions at the conference discussed many issues, and suggested that Binh Duong province and the conference’s Organizing Committee carefully study the presentations and discussions at the seminar. These are all presentations that were prepared very thoroughly, methodically, and meticulously. At the same time, the opinions discussed at the conference were also very enthusiastic and responsible. “It is recommended that the conference’s Organizing Committee and the Central Theoretical Council organize a separate conference to complete the theoretical summary and practical research from the reality of Binh Duong province to contribute to the completion of our innovation path", Nguyen Xuan Thang noted.
