Binh Duong Customs to share difficulties, assist businesses

In 2021, Binh Duong Customs Department makes effort to collect State budget revenue of not less than 16,000 billion VND. This is a rather high revenue target in the context of complicated epidemic and bad effects on the economy. To complete this target, Binh Duong Customs Department has drastically implemented many solutions right from beginning of 2021.

In 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic was complicated and had a great impact on all socio-economic fields of the country. In the province, the situation of manufacture, business, import-export of enterprises also suffered many unfavorable impacts. The growth rate of import-export turnover over the months was lower than the plan, state budget revenue continued to decrease over the same period in 2019. By the end of December 31st 2020, budget revenue of Provincial Customs Department reached over VND 15,500 billion, down 3.28% over the same period in 2019, reaching 90.67% of target assigned by the Ministry of Finance and Provincial People's Council (VND 17,100 billion), reaching 88.60% compared to the target of the Department (VND 17,500 billion).

However, with the determination to implement the "Dual Objectives", Provincial Customs Department actively formulated plans and executive scenarios, drastically directed the prevention and control of epidemic, and offered advices on breakthrough solutions to the implementation of political tasks. By the end of 2020, the Department completed the tasks set out for this year, was one of the leading units in the customs industry and in the province on Administrative procedure reform; always be united, clean and strong; state budget collection gained the most positive in the southeastern provinces.

To always working closely with the business community, Binh Duong Customs implemented various solutions to reform administrative procedures, modernize customs procedures, helping import and export enterprises to save time and costs and be more convenient in customs clearance, tax payment; improve the efficiency of customs management. The Department also transformed administrative procedures from direct contact to online public services on the web portal, maximizing convenience for import and export activities in the area.

Nguyen Phuoc Viet Dung, Director of Binh Duong Customs Department, said that since the beginning of 2020, provincial customs branch drastically implemented directions of the Prime Minister, Ministry of Finance, Provincial People's Committee, and General Department of Customs on the implementation of dual objectives both disease epidemic prevention and control and task, solution performance to continue improving business environment, removing difficulties for import and export activities of enterprises in the area. In the difficult economic context due to the impact of the Covid-19, in order to reach the target of State budget revenue in 2020, the Department made a strong effort to implement many key solutions. In addition to promoting the administrative procedure reform, constantly improving the quality and efficiency of works, heightening the satisfaction of enterprises, the department also actively held many conferences, seminars, developed synchronized solutions to share, remove difficulties, support enterprises in the area.

To secure new revenue sources

2021 is very important, the first year of the socio-economic development plan for the period 2021-2025. In the difficult economic context due to the impact of Covid-19, in order to achieve the budget revenue target in 2021, together with the whole province, Provincial Customs Department is actively implementing many tasks simultaneously, both preventing epidemic and ensuring state budget revenues.

Besides, customs branch continues to accelerate the reform of administrative procedures, customs modernization, strong application of IT to all professional stages to further shorten the time of customs clearance of goods, reduce costs for enterprises, and focus on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of state management of customs, carry out drastic solutions to attract enterprises, increase state budget revenues and strengthen solutions to combat budget losses through import and export management activities.

Nguyen Phuoc Viet Dung, Director of Binh Duong Customs Department, said that with the synchronous and effective implementation of revenue collection measures, Binh Duong Customs is striving to fulfill the assigned budget revenue target. In the coming time, the Department will continue to strengthen the reform of administrative procedures, assist enterprises; facilitate import and export activities, increase revenue sources in the area; strengthen solutions to attract businesses, increase State budget revenue, create sustainable sources of revenue. Furthermore, Binh Duong Department of Customs is constantly innovating, improving the effectiveness of the control, fighting against smuggling and risk management; ensuring a streamlined, effective and efficient organization, building a professional and reputable customs force to enhance the satisfaction level of businesses and people.
