Binh Duong launches project to develop education for disadvantaged students

On the afternoon of March 20, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Binh Duong province, in coordination with the Saigon Children’s Charity CIO organization, held the launch ceremony of the project "Developing education for students and students in difficult circumstances in Binh Duong province for 2023 - 2028" (referred to as the project).

The project is organized by Saigon Children’s Charity CIO, mobilizing SC Johnson & Son Vietnam to sponsor with a total amount of over 2.8 billion VND. The project has 3 main contents: Providing laptops; supporting scholarships for students, students in difficult circumstances, and raising awareness of preschool teachers and parents about autism spectrum disorders.

Specifically, in the first content, the Organizing Committee will present 17 laptops worth over 177 million VND to 17 students in difficult circumstances. In the second content, 100 students from disadvantaged families studying at public schools in Binh Duong will receive scholarships for up to 5 years, until the end of their current education level. At the same time, the project will organize training sessions to equip students with essential skills such as communication, internet safety, self-defense, and effective study skills.

The final content, the project will organize training courses to enhance the awareness of preschool teachers and parents about autism spectrum disorder, as well as the important role of early intervention for autistic children. This content is expected to be implemented within one year.
