April 4, Mr. Mai Hung Dung, Standing Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, met and worked with the delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development led by Mr. Phung Duc Tien, the deputy minister is the head of the breeding team in the province.

According to the report, in 2019 the situation of animal husbandry in the province encountered many difficulties due to the direct impact of the African swine fever (DTHCP) that occurred from May 5-2019. Accordingly, in the whole province, there were unusual pigs died in 1,394 households or farms in 84 communes, wards and towns of 9 districts, towns and cities with the total number of pigs dead and forced to cull out as 87,116 heads. By the end of 2019, according to veterinary statistics, the total number of pigs in the province is nearly 650,000, down 15.14% compared to before the occurrence of African swine fever. Total local budget expenditure has been spent to support the prevention of nearly VND 168 billion.

Currently, the province's livestock industry continues to be planned in the direction of developing high-tech breeding in 4 northern districts of the province. By April 2020, the total number of pigs in the province is estimated to reach nearly 800,000, an increase of 21.84% compared to the beginning of January - 2020. This shows the effectiveness of the State management work performed by the Provincial People's Committee and functional agencies to control OCD; At the same time, farms and husbandry companies have been created favorable conditions to supply products to the market.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Phung Duc Tien highly appreciated the prevention and control of DTHCP, the increase in the herd and re-herds of all levels and branches in the province in the past time, especially in the situation of Covid-19 complicated movements like today. At the same time, he also noted that the province had more promotion solutions in livestock raising, such as building a chain to ensure disease and food safety.
