Binh Duong provincial Phu Dong Sports Festival 2016 to be opened

Evening Mar 19, provincial Department of Education and Training (MOET) hosted the opening ceremony of the 9^th Binh Duong Phu Dong Sports Festival 2016. Dang Minh Hung, Vice Chairman of PPC; heads of agencies, sectors, unions; leaders of People’s Committees of districts, towns and city in the province.

At the opening ceremony, the organizers mobilized about 2,500 students from nine Education-Training Offices; 33 junior high schools, high schools in the province marched through the stands. Binh Duong Phu Dong Sports Festival 2016 took place from Jan 23 to Mar 23 with the participation of about 10,000 students competing in 14 sports, including badminton, shuttlecock, table tennis, taekwondo, karate, football, basketball, volleyball...

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr.Hung emphasized, apart from moral education, ideological and political education, physical education was one important content in schools to create a new generation with a comprehensive development, pure soul, bright mind and robust body, meeting the requirements of the innovation-industrialization and modernization process of the country in general, and Binh Duong province in particular. Therefore, provincial leadership and leaders of educational sector have paid much attention to physical education tasks. Therefore, the province hosted Phu Dong Sports Festival with the aim to maintain and promote the movement “All people exercise our body to follow uncle Ho’s example”, encourage students to take regularly exercises, play sports to improve health.
