Tokyo Rope Vietnam Company Limited, for example, in 2012 will spend more $45mil to expand its plant at VISIP II. The capital increase will lift the company’s total investment capital up to nearly $69mil with a capacity of 3,000 tons per month.

Meanwhile, Showa Gloves Vietnam Company Limited, specializing in manufacturing household and industrial gloves will lift its investment capital up to $100mil.

Prospect of large projects

In 2011, many Japanese groups have paid visits to the province to find out investment environment. Lastly, on a visit to the locality, Mr. Mera, president of Kiyo Kensetsu Kikai Company, said the company wishes to build a plant in the province to meet demand on heavy equipment components. Once put into operation, the plant will supply heavy equipment components for local and foreign markets.

Or, Aeon Group, a famous retail group in Japan, has been in preparation for building a trade center at Thuan An town. In Binh Duong, Aeon group’s project will be built close to VISIP I on an area of 6ha of land. The project is under completion of legal procedures. The project will be started in early 2012 and put into operation by 2014.

Notably, Japan’s Tokyu Group is preparing for developing urban and traffic infrastructure facilities in Binh Duong. Mr.Koshi Mura, president of this group, said Binh Duong has annually gained a double growth compared with the whole country. So, the locality has won great attention from Tokyu Group. This is proved by cooperation between Tokyu Group and Becamex IDC.

Japanese groups’ investments in Binh Duong have showed that Binh Duong is a dynamic, advantaged and attractive locality for Japanese enterprises in particular and foreign businesses in general.
