According to Mr. Cong, Biwase is applying the price of clean water at VND 10,000 per cubic meters for households and VND 13,200 per cubic meters for admistrative,  non-business agencies, hospitals, and schools under the direction of the Government, the Decision No. 04/2018/QD-UBND of provincial People's Committee regulating water prices for daily life, production and business from 2018 to 2022.

The southern provinces and cities are applying social distancing under the Prime Minister’s Directive No.16, due to the complicated developments of Covid-19 epidemic. This has made people’s daily life and production face a lot of difficulties. Therefore, under the direction of the Government, Biwase has submitted a plan on water price cuts for customers into provincial Department of Finance. Accordingly, the price of clean water for daily life will be reduced from VND 10,000 per cubic meter to VND 9,000 per cubic meter. The price of water used in administrative, non-business units will cost from VND 13,200 per cubic meter to VND 9,000 per cubic meter. This price is also applied for concentrated isolation areas in the province. The price cut will be applied for August and September, 2021.

Sharing efforts against pandemic

The fourth wave of Covid-19 pandemic has greatly affected Biwase’s production-business activities. Although the company’s sales decreased significantly compared to the same period of 2020, the company has quickly set up a plan on water price reduction and submitted it into to provincial Department of Finance under the Government’s policy on water price cuts for people, affected by the pandemic. The company has so far  implemented the "3 on-site” production models to ensure the supply of clean water to serve people's daily life and enterprises’ production.

Along with safe production and business activities, responding to the appeal of provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Biwase has donated VND 500 million to the local Covid-19 prevention and control fund. It has also just handed over 150,000 SARS-CoV-2 rapid antigen test kits to provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control in order to support the local task of taking samples for  large-scale Covid-19 testing of phase 2 on people in high-risk areas.

On August 1, the Government Office issued the Official Dispatch No. 5257/VPCP-KTTH on supporting people affected by Covid-19. Specifically, the Prime Minister asked for the People's Committees of provinces and cities to urgently consider and implement the price reduction of clean water for daily life of people, especially those living in localities implementing social distancing under the Prime Minister’s Directive No. 16. Previously, also in order to support people affected by the pandemic, the Government promulgated the Resolution No.83/NQ-CP on a plan to support electricity price reduction and electricity bill reduction applied for the fourth time to electricity customers affected by the pandemic. Particularly, people who are using electricity for daily life in provinces and cities implementing social distancing under the Government’s Directive No.16 from July 30, 2021 will receive reduction in electricity prices. A 15 per cent reduction will be applied to electricity prices for households which have electricity consumption of up to 200kWh per month while households which have electricity consumption of more than 200kWh will receive a 10 per cent discount…
