Nguyen Thi Le Trinh, Chairwoman of provincial Red Cross Society said that this year’s Charity Month aims to connect kind hearts, bringing the joy and happiness to people with difficult circumstances, thereby boosting society linkage and national strength.

Running from May 1 to 31, the Charity Month 2019 is implemented with many practical activities, including offering gifts to needy people under the campaign of “Each organization, individual should stick to a humanitarian address”, donating “red cross” houses, giving blood, providing free medical check-up and medicine for disadvantaged people…

Mr.Hung said that this is a peak month for charity activities organized practically with the participation of agencies, organizations and people from strata under the leadership of Party organizations at all levels…

Possibly speaking, under the leadership of the local Party and government, provincial Red Cross Society created outstanding initiatives and activities such as taking care of the poor, providing free medical check-up, building “red cross” houses…over the past time. The society and its branches well realized social welfare policies, contributing to the local poverty reduction…

Connection and pervasion

Before the ceremony, more than 350 people from Phu Giao district and Dau Tieng gave blood. This is also part of the “Summer pink blood drops” campaign 2019 implemented by provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels, thereby contributing to propagandizing and mobilizing people from strata to take part in the voluntary blood donation campaign.

At the ceremony, provincial Red Cross Society also launched a text-message to fund construction of charity houses for the poor in border areas. It is known that the campaign is implemented by the Vietnam Red Cross Society, the National Humanitarian Portal 1400 and some other units. Each message sent to 1409 will donate VND20,000 to the purpose.

On this occasion, provincial Red Cross Society also mobilized donors to fund construction of 12 “red cross” houses worth VND600million, offer gifts to those who were under free medical check-up and gave blood at the event.

Noticeably, this year’s Charity Month has received great contributions from enterprises and donors. The family of Huynh Van Rang in Thuan An town’s Lai Thieu ward was a typical example for this. At the ceremony, he and his wife donated a “red cross” house worth VND50million to a poor household in the Mekong Delta province of Ben Tre and VND10million to the program.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr.Hung called for enterprises, organizations, individuals in and out of the province to offer help to disadvantaged people, contributing to well realizing the Party, State’s policy on socialization of public healthcare and social welfare.
