Cooperative groups work effectively

With favorable conditions in terms of soil and weather, An Thanh ward in Thuan An town has effectively maintained cooperatives, cooperative groups on agricultural production. These cooperatives, cooperative groups have had coherence in production and business for better development.

Nguyen Huu Hanh, a resident in An Thanh ward said that he has taken part in a cooperative on orchard improvement for some years. This has helped the farmer get more experience in tending his orchard of nearly 3,000 square meters. He has also researched books to apply sci-tech advancements into production, aiming to improve productivity and products’ quality.

The whole ward now has 3 cooperatives on orchard improvement with 33 members. These members have regularly met and shared experience in the process of tending their orchards. They have also mutually supported in developing their consumption market.

Along with cooperatives on orchard improvement, the ward has promoted many other production models towards becoming cooperative groups. Le Van Giau, Head of the cooperative group on bean sprout and vegetables said that so far, the cooperative group now has more than 20 members. They have had close cooperation for development together.

Le Van Giau, member of the cooperative group said that his family can supply the market with more than 300 kg of bean sprouts every day with the average profit of VND400,000-VND500,000. His bean sprout products are mainly consumed at markets of Thu Dau Mot, Phu Hoa, Bung…With 10-year experience in bean sprout, he is always ready to assist other members in production techniques.

Especially, members of the cooperative group have always observed regulations on food safety and hygiene. The cooperative group is concentrating on enhancing the quality of products to win clients’ faith towards sustainable development.

Pham Quoc Viet, Chairman of An Thanh ward’s Farmers’ Association, member of the ward’s Steering Board for Collective Economic Development said that the Steering Board will continue well realizing propaganda on collective economic policies, making sci-tech transfer in production, business and seeking consumption market. All will help members of ward-based cooperative groups keep their mind on production-business, contributing to improving their income and promoting the local economic development.

It is known that the whole ward is home to 4 cooperatives, comprising of An Thanh People’s Credit Fund, An Thanh Agricultural Services Cooperative, Thuan Loi Cooperative, Southeastern Transport Cooperative and 8 cooperative groups.
