Creating the best conditions for enterprises to participate in trade promotion

Trade promotion plays an important role in export activities, raising the competitiveness and efficiency of enterprises. In recent years, provincial functional departments and businesses have done well this work.

To help businesses find markets

During the first 9 months of 2017, provincial Trade Promotion Center organized for enterprises and associations to participate in 9 fairs and exhibitions in provinces and cities across the country, through which many large contracts were signed. In addition, the center organized for 3 enterprises in the province to open 6 booths at the 6th Buon Me Thuot coffee festival, and gained a revenue of VND150 million. Particularly, at the 1st Fair of Agricultural Cooperatives, Cooperatives’ alliances and Enterprises in 2017 held in Hanoi, 3 enterprises of the province with 6 stalls gained a turnover of VND50 million and signed 2 contracts...

Furthermore, foreign trade promotion programs also received much attention from the province. Provincial authorities supported the participation in trade fairs, exhibitions on industry, trade - services... in other countries. Namely, since the beginning of the year, provincial authorities organized 6 company’s participations in international exhibition on interior decoration in Singapore, sales revenue reached nearly VND200 million. Provincial Trade Promotion Center in collaboration with provincial Lacquer - Sculpture Association met Vietnam Trade Office in Singapore to discuss the needs and tastes of Singapore market for interior - exterior decoration products, lacquer, sculpture and environmentally friendly products...

Le Ba Linh, Director of Tu Bon Lacquer Company, said that the participation in fairs in and outside the country helped businesses have more opportunities to promote products, devise planning, development strategies and opportunities to find sales channels.

Mobilizing enterprises to participate in trade promotion

However, according to the assessment, there are still some small businesses are not really interested in promoting products, expanding business networks, so not bravely participate in trade promotion programs. Through market surveys, fairs, exhibitions in and outside the province, product category of participating enterprises is not diversified, especially lack of information about products. Therefore, the competitiveness of products is weak, so it is not attractive to customers.

Pham Thanh Dung, Director of provincial Trade Promotion Center, said that in the coming time, the center would increase its mobilization to enterprises for participation in trade promotion programs. Regarding trade promotion programs in foreign countries, the center continues to work closely with trade associations to introduce the province's products such as timber, ceramics, textiles, footwear, lacquer and handicrafts... to potential customers through major fairs and exhibitions in the world. Specifically, the center will organize delegations attending Havana International Fair and explore Cuban market and some Latin American countries...

Regarding domestic trade promotion programs, Trade Promotion Center continues to organize programs to bring Vietnamese goods to rural areas and industrial clusters; participate in key Southeastern fairs...
