The 18th session of 7th People’s Council ratified orientations, tasks and goals for the next year. Accordingly, many crucial goals are considered as a premise for completing tasks for the local 5-year plan (2011-2015).

GDP rises 14.5%

2011’s common goals are to focus on all sources for socio-economic stability with the target of reaching a higher growth compared to 2010, raising efficiency of trade promotion, social welfare assurance, improving local people’s life, boosting socio-political stability and ensuring defense-security.

Specifically, some economic goals are set out including a 14.5% rise of GDP against 2010, per capita GDP of about VND36.1mil, a 20-21% increase of industrial production value, a 4.5% surge of agro-forestry and fishery and a 25-26% rise of service GDP against 2010, a 30% jump of total retail goods, a 21% rise of export turnover compared with 2010 as well as VND21tril in budget collection, VND7,5tril in budget expenditure and over US$1bil in FDI attraction.

For social goals, the locality strives to reach 48% of national standard schools, maintain the rate of birth stably, place jobs for more than 44,000 laborers, decline 1.5-2% of poverty rate, decrease the rate of malnourished children under 5 by 13.8%, obtain 95.6% of rural population using clean water and solve 86% of solid waste and so on.   

Some crucial solutions

The provincial People’s Council also set out orientations and solutions for development in 2011. It focuses on solving obstacles of businesses, offering incentives for economic sectors to invest in houses for students, workers and low incomers.

As for environmental protection, the province will concentrate on building a socialization mechanism on solid waste treatment at industrial parks, suspending operation of companies causing environmental pollution.

In addition, the local administration strives to excel the proposed programs, projects and policies for social welfare as well as mobilize all sources in the society to take care for privileged families. Moreover, the province targets to conduct solutions of poverty reduction effectively and synchronously, give a helping hand to sub-poor households to minimize re-poverty, raise awareness on laws for employers and employees, inspect execution on labor code at companies as well as ensure defense-security and improve responsibility of all level agencies in solving complaints…
