Dau Tieng district put more effort into building a spacious and modern urban center

In recent years, Dau Tieng district has received many investments of the province to develop material infrastructure as a stimulus for local economic – urban growth. With available advantages, as well as efficient employment of all resources, Dau Tieng district strives to construct and develop a spacious and modern urban area.

 

Dau Tieng town will develop into a class-4 urban area in the future.

Young urban areas

In 2003, Nguyen Van Nam came from the North to Minh Hoa commune, Dau Tieng district for settlement. He witnessed the rapid change of this land, and was happy as Minh Hoa commune has now spacious and synchronous electricity, roads, schools, stations.... Old houses in this commune were replaced by new concrete houses, crowded roads, dynamic trading of goods.

These changes in Minh Hoa are also the general change of Dau Tieng district in recent years. In the period 2016-2018, the district People's Committee implemented a number of detailed construction planning projects in the district. Accordingly, the district approved the map of the residential area in ​​Tien Phong hamlet, Long Hoa commune (adjusted from the residential area planning in ​​Tien Phong hamlet, Long Hoa commune under the Announcement No. 34/TB-UBND dated March 21,2017 of the district People's Committee); Completing reports and advising District People's Committee to adjust the 1/2000 master plan into 1/500 detailed plans. Local authorities also implemented the 1/2000 master plan of Dau Tieng town eastern urban area, 1/2000 planning of Dau Tieng town northern commercial service urban area according to provincial  Department of Construction’s consultancy. Besides, the district carried out social criticism for the planning of Dau Tieng town airport.

Functional branches in the district cooperated with each other to provide vocational training to the youth and people in the town. As a result, the percentage of trained workers in the town soared, contributing significantly to reducing the poor household rate according to provincial criteria.

Namely, Dau Tieng town currently has 82.3% of trained laborers, the rate of non-agricultural laborers is 75% (80.3% of non-agricultural laborers are in urban areas), the poverty rate (according to provincial criteria) is 0.73%. In Thanh Tuyen commune, 96.98% laborers were trained, the percentage of non-agricultural laborers is 43.5% (the rate of non-agricultural laborers in urban areas is 68.6%), and the rate of poor households is 1.38%. Minh Hoa commune has 84% trained workers, the rate of non-agricultural workers is 21.1%, the rate of non-agricultural workers in urban areas is 65.8%, poverty rate is 2.53%.

Socialization of urban projects

According to Urban Management Chamber of Dau Tieng district, the district reviewed the land fund for socialization and investment projects in the form of public-private partnerships (PPP) with a total area 128 hectares. After reviewing the investment portfolio and making a list of investment projects of socialization in the locality, Dau Tieng district expected to carry out 10 investment projects in the form of PPP, including 4 projects in urban areas: Dau Tieng commercial, service and residential area project, the target is constructing material facilities for commercial and service areas and residential areas, with estimated budget VND 150 billion, the implementation period 2018-2020. The project of district library has estimated cost of VND 18 billion, implementation period 2018-2020. Project of Long Hoa primary school has estimated cost of VND 55 billion, implementation period 2018-2020. Finally, the project of Minh Hoa primary school has estimated cost of VND 80 billion, implementation period 2018-2020.

Leaders of Dau Tieng district People's Committee said that the management of planning and implementation in urban areas was seriously and effectively implemented, contributing to the improvement of urban areas. In addition, infrastructure upgrading was implemented by local government in accordance with the mid-term public investment plan for the period 2016-2020, and gradually improved the transport infrastructure in urban areas. The district People's Committee also suggested Department of Construction advised provincial People's Committee to adjust the roadmap for Dau Tieng town upgrading to class-4 urban area, Long Hoa, Minh Hoa and Ben Suc to class-5 urban area after 2020; At the same time, urban plans approved by provincial People's Committee should be kept unchanged for infrastructure investment projects as planned.

In the coming time, Dau Tieng district will accelerate the work of clearance and compensation of technical infrastructure projects in urban areas; good implementation of project management, monitoring construction progress and project quality to complete the plan. Accordingly, the district will promptly hand over lands to complete projects; execute Ben Suc urban infrastructure upgrading, Minh Hoa crossroad and Minh Hoa commune technical infrastructure upgrading. The district will also complete the construction of Long Hoa technical urban infrastructure.

In addition, the district will also call for investors to develop and implement projects under the planning of areas under Dau Tieng Township Airport, eastern urban area, northern urban area...
