Dau Tieng gets animated with volunteer activities

With three topics “Joyful summer-experiencing and training skills”, “For children’s smile sparkling forever, “Dau Tieng’s youth proudly advancing under Party flag”, Dau Tieng district’s Youth Union is bringing useful playgrounds to children while upholding youth’s volunteer role in many other volunteer activities.

Dau Tieng district’s Youth Union has motivated summer programs for the local children right after the 2014-2015 academic year ended.

Particularly, the district’s Youth Union in collaboration with the district’s Division of Culture-Information and Division of Education-Training held a drawing competition at Ngo Quyen primary school with the participation of nearly 450 pupils from the local kindergartens, primary and secondary schools. The competition focused on topics regarding love to homeland, “Binh Duong-40 years of renewal and development”, celebration of Party congresses at all levels, love to national sea and islands, new rural construction. With the above topics, participating children brought beautiful pictures together with significant messages via lively colors to the competition.

Tran Thi Kim Yen, a pupil of Ngo Quyen primary school said: “I drew a picture about love to national sea and islands with a hope of sending my respect to soldiers who are on duty on islands”.

Following the drawing contest, a festival “Joining hands for children” was also organized with the participation of more than 300 children in Minh Thanh commune. The local children received meaningful gifts from Youth Union members together with 45 gifts and 5 scholarships worth VND12mln from provincial Terrain Sport Car Club and district’s Club of Skills at the festival.

Many other units, namely Dau Tieng Rubber One-Member Co.Ltd.’s Youth Union, the district’s Agencies Bloc Club and the Youth Union of the district’s Police Agency, also gave 10 gifts worth VND1mln, 80 boxes of milk and 20 helmets for the local children.

Along with gifts, the district’s Youth Union organized a variety of animated and practical programs for the local children during the festival.They had a chance to enjoy folk games with attractive gifts, free haircut and medical check-up together with many significant activities from clubs under the district’s Youth Union.

Nguyen Thi Bich Van, Secretary of Dau Tieng district’s Youth Union said: “During the 2015 summer vacation, the district’s Youth Union members will coordinate with the local educational sector to organize classes for pupils and launch the “Voluntary pink scarf” movement among teaching staff and those who are in charge of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization. The district’s Youth Union will also focus on the “Green Sunday”, “Voluntary Saturday” campaigns; mobilize organizations and individuals to raise fund for children with extremely difficult circumstances; uphold youth’s role in the movement of “Youth joining hands in new rural construction” by volunteer works…”.
