Implementing the project has helped change people’s thought on demand and have determination in restructuring of their production. The local agricultural restructuring has also contributed to promoting the shift of plant and animal structure towards large-scale production at market’s demand…

The whole district is now home to 580 hectares of fruit trees, up 202 hectares compared to 2013. Along with this, the district has developed a specialized area on fruit trees in association with ecological tourism development in Thanh Tuyen commune; carried out an intensive farming model for citrus-fruit trees under VietGAP standards and made the linkage from production to consumption in Minh Hoa and Minh Thanh communes.

Besides, the district has encouraged individuals and enterprises to foster urban and hi-tech agricultural models. It is known that the district now has a total of 102 hectares of farming land with hi-tech application. Noticeably, Dau Tieng Rubber One-Member Co.Ltd. and U&I Agricultural Joint Stock Company has so far set a joint venture to implement a bananas-growing project of 95 hectares in Thanh An commune.

The district has also had around 11 hectares of ornamental creatures. Noticeably, Mai Quoc Thai orchid farm in Minh Hoa commune’s Hoa Loc hamlet with 6.5 hectares in total has worked very effectively. Two mushroom models Minh Khai and Tan Hung in Minh Thanh and Minh Hoa communes have also reached high economic efficiency. Whilst, ornamental fish models are mainly in Thanh Tuyen and Thanh An communes. The district’s production value from ornamental creatures has gained between VND800million and VND1billion per hectare per year with the average profit of VND500millon per hectare per year.

In terms of animal husbandry, the whole district is now home to 212 animal husbandry farms with more than 115,870 heads of cattle and more than 2.59 billion heads of poultry.

Currently, the district continues implementing solutions in a synchronous way to boost agricultural restructuring towards the increase of productivity, quality, effectiveness, competitiveness and sustainable development, which is seen as a good sign. But, the district’s agricultural restructuring has still faced challenges ahead, so it requires high determination from the local authorities at all levels and people.
