In this year's Workers' Month, the authorities at all levels and the provincial Trade Union have focused on peak activities to take practical and specific care to accompany and share with employees to overcome difficulties before the impact of the pandemic, the severity of the COVID-19 epidemic and the high prices of commodities. This year's Workers' Month has just ended and has left many good impressions in the hearts of union members, employees and business owners.

To take care of material things

Right from the beginning of May, the provincial People's Committee and the provincial Trade Union held the launching ceremony of Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health and Workers' Month. Immediately after the ceremony, a series of peak activities took place to take care of the lives of union members and employees of the political, social and business community. The activities showed concern, shared difficulties and recognized the contributions of the labor force for the common development of the enterprise and Binh Duong province. At the same time, the provincial leaders and the provincial Trade Union organized delegations to visit and give gifts to workers in extremely difficult circumstances who are living in hostels and working at enterprises in the province. In which, the provincial delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Head of the provincial National Assembly delegation visited, encouraged and gave gifts to 50 workers with extremely difficult circumstances working at Common Footwear Company Limited in Thuan An city.

The provincial Trade Union also gave 74 savings books to children who lost their parents due to the COVID-19 epidemic, coordinated to organize sales programs with preferential prices, VND-0 booths, helping more than 20,000 workers benefiting with a total amount of billions of VND. The provincial Trade Union also cooperated with the provincial Red Cross to organize 2 VND-0 market fair to support hundreds of workers and poor people with essential necessities. At the same time, the grassroots trade unions also organize working groups to visit, give gifts and encourage union members and workers who are staying in hostels and working at enterprises. Ms. Tran Thi Gai, a native of Hau Giang province, a worker at Virtue King Vietnam Co. Ltd. in Song Than Industrial Park 2, is a single mother raising a child of school age, and has just spent a long hospital stay. For surgery and treatment of valvular stenosis, life is difficult. Recently, she was visited, encouraged and given gifts by a staff of the provincial Trade Union of industrial parks. “I am very touched by the concern and affection of the trade union officials and employees for me. These are the most meaningful and practical gifts for me,” said Gai.

Talking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Can, Chairman of the Grassroots Trade Union of Virtue King Vietnam Co. Ltd. said that in response to this year's Workers' Month activity, the company's grassroots Trade Union Executive Committee actively coordinated together with the company organize many practical care activities for employees such as improving the quality of shift meals of employees; they visit and encourage cases of workers in extremely difficult circumstances suffering from fatal diseases or occupational accidents and organized and launched the emulation movement.

To enhance spiritual life

Talking to us, Mr. Le Van Hieu, Chairman of the Union of Labor of Thuan An city, said that along with activities to take care of material things, the city's Trade Union has also organized many activities to take care of people under the spirit of organizing a badminton tournament for employees in 2022, attracting 53 competing teams from the grassroots trade unions with more than 150 athletes; they organize the workers' day of Thuan An city in 2022 with campaign games and lucky draw program with practical gifts that attract a large number of union members and workers.

Ms. Dang Thi Kim Chi, Chairwoman of the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Parks (VSIP) Union, said that in this year's Workers' Month, VSIP Trade Union organized many activities to improve the cultural and spiritual life of workers in activities such as organizing the men's and women's mini-soccer tournament in 2022 with 102 teams from the grassroots trade unions directly under their respective branches to participate in exciting competitions with healthy and rewarding entertainment playground in weekends for union members and employees after stressful working hours.

The contest of "Singing employees in 2022 - Meeting after work" organized by the provincial Trade Union on every Saturday, has also created a useful mental playground for employees. The contest attracted a large number of union members and employees working in enterprises and living near Binh Duong Labor Culture Center at An Phu ward in Thuan An city to compete and cheer for the competition candidates. According to the Organizing Committee of the contest, the contest is organized with the aim of contributing to propagandizing, promoting, building and developing cultural and artistic movements, promoting the talents of workers and training their skills.

Ms. Nguyen Kim Loan, Chairwoman of the provincial Trade Union, said that taking care of and protecting the legal rights of union members and employees is one of the key tasks of the Trade Union. In particular, in the Worker Month 2022 - the peak month for organizing care activities, the authorities at all levels, the provincial Trade Union with the cooperation and contribution of businesses have had many practical and specific activities to care for employees, especially those in extremely difficult situations suffering from serious diseases and occupational accidents. The activities have spread the spirit of joining hands to take care and share difficulties to support union members and employees to overcome difficulties to stabilize their lives; at the same time, to further affirm the role of the Trade Union in taking care of the life and protecting the legitimate interests of trade union members and employees.
