Diverse playing ground for workers

Update: 14-10-2023 | 14:11:39

Along with activities to care for material life, , trade unions at all levels in the province in 2023 continuously created playgrounds for workers in the province. According to the provincial Trade Union, there is currently a lack of amusement parks for workers and children of workers, not commensurate with the results of their labor. But in return, thanks to the flexibility in union activities, playgrounds have partly met the spiritual life of workers.

To improve the quality of competitions

In the last 3 months, trade unions at all levels in the province have continuously created playgrounds for workers in localities as well as at grassroots unions. Among them, many large playgrounds have been and are being organized by the provincial Trade Union to attract thousands of workers, bringing great significance to workers in terms of spiritual life after work such as Binh Duong provincial Workers' Singing Contest 2023, Badminton and Table Tennis Tournament for workers and labor officials in Binh Duong province in 2023, the provincial men's football tournament for workers and labor officials in 2023, the 2023 national workers' soccer championship of Southeast region just been held in Binh Duong.

Binh Duong province's workers' singing contest in 2023 is an attractive playground for workers

The number of contestants and athletes is very large at tournaments and competitions each of which the number of fans is always big enough to create passionate festivals. Typically, the workers' singing contest in Binh Duong province in 2023 with the theme of "Restaurant after shifts" is approaching the final round, leaving a mark and beautiful memories on workers. This year, the contest attracted over 200 grassroots trade unions with nearly 400 entries including new and folk music like cheo every Sunday evening.

The Badminton and Table Tennis Tournament for workers and labor officials of the province were with the participation of 1,500 athletes from more than 400 affiliated grassroots unions. Every Sunday, the tournament attracts hundreds of workers from districts and towns to the provincial Labor Cultural Center to play and cheer for the home teams, creating an attractive playground. Nguyen Khac Dung of Chan Thanh Co. Ltd. who just won first prize in badminton, commented: "The tournament organizing committee is very thoughtful in organizing from the field to the professional referee team, working fair-minded. I personally see that the quality of tournaments for workers is increasingly improving and becoming more professional, creating positive motivation for competition. This not only attracts candidates taking the exam next year and creates a large playground for workers across the province, but also promotes the movement of physical training and sports among workers."

Along with that, trade unions of districts, towns, cities, and grassroots in industrial zones and clusters across the province also continuously create playgrounds for workers such as Tan Uyen city and Thuan An city Trade Unions which have just concluđe the mini football tournament for men and women workers and labor officials in the locality. Ben Cat town Trade Union has also successfully organized a mini men's and women's football tournament – the Ben Cat town Trade Union Cup and the contest of "The singing of officials, civil servants and workers" in 2023.

To pay attention to building cultural institutions

Talking to us, Nguyen Hoang Bao Tran, Vice President of the provincial Trade Union, said: "Recently, the Vietnam General Trade Union, the provincial Party Committee, and the provincial People's Committee have always paid attention to the lives of workers both materially and spiritually, creating conditions for trade unions to build cultural institutions to serve the spiritual life of workers; thereby, helping them have a long-term attachment to Binh Duong province."

As a locality with over 1.3 million workers, of which about 85% are immigrants, there is a need to care for the spiritual and cultural life and cultural institutions for workers and their children. The number of workers in Binh Duong is actually large, especially in industrial zones and clusters. However, models and playground areas for workers and their children are still lacking and fail to meet the needs.

In order to effectively carry out the work of taking care of life, especially improving the cultural and spiritual life of workers, the provincial Trade Union proposed solutions such as strengthening propaganda and advocacy. Trade unions at all levels research propaganda forms, regularly innovate and diversify forms and contents appropriate to the characteristics of the establishment and the situation of workers, coordinate with the cultural sector to direct provincial trade unions to organize propaganda activities, educate on ethics and lifestyle in the family and prevent and combat domestic violence among cadres, civil servants, public employees and other people, strengthen coordination and organization of activities, cultural and artistic movements, physical training and sports, and build workers' cultural life in industrial parks and areas with large numbers of workers.

Nguyen Hoang Bao Tran added that trade unions at all levels also research and deploy specific models and tasks on building cultural life among workers and labor officials to ensure practicality and appropriateness with the characteristics of the situation to focus on organizing, implementing, disseminating and replicating, creating emphasis and pervasiveness. Units enhance the role and responsibility of the President of the grassroots trade union in advising and coordinating with heads of agencies, units and enterprises in organizing activities to care for and improve cultural life, to build criteria to promptly praise and reward typical individuals and outstanding groups, and create the persuasiveness of the emulation movement among union members, workers, and labor officials.

At the same time, the units improve the effectiveness of training and professional development for union officials directly working on cultural, artistic, sports and physical activities, select staff with professional qualifications, capacity, and many ideas and creativity in the cultural field to plan, structure, and arrange appropriately to meet the requirements and tasks in the new term.
