Environmental protection by good deeds

Environmental protection to improve living environment is considered as one of key tasks for the provincial Women Union. Accordingly, the union will keep spurring promulgations to enhance local women’s awareness and responsibility on environmental protection.  

“Through periodical meetings, clubs..., the union’s cadres at all levels will propagate activities of environmental protection for sisters to change behaviors and customs impacting badly on environment in a bid to improve living environment better”, said Le Thi Thu, a cadre of Di An town’s Tan Dong Hiep ward women union.

In addition, the provincial women union launched a writing contest on “initiatives of environmental protection and land resources management and usage”. The contest received 10,500 entries from members. Many sisters have eliminated backward behaviors and customs.

Aside from spurring promulgations, the union at all levels has launched good deeds through significant movements to uphold efficiency on environmental protection. Nguyen Tu Thien, vice chairwoman of An Thanh ward Women Union, said sisters’ participation in environmental protection movements has become a constant deed.

The ward women union has launched movements of green tree planting, environmental hygiene… to bring a clean and green environment for the locality.

Assessing the work of environmental protection, Nguyen Thi Phuong said that the union would uphold done results and spur promulgations by good deeds of mobilizing members to produce clean food and consumption, to build 3-clean families in an attempt to raise women’s awareness on a pure, clean, civilized and modern living.
