Establishments causing serious environment pollution to be strictly sanctioned

In the afternoon of July 8, the People's Committee of Tan Uyen Town held a meeting to approve the plan for environmental protection and response to climate change for 2021-2025. According to the plan, the goal of environmental protection in 2021-2025 is towards sustainable development by promoting innovation in the economic growth model associated with environmental protection and implementation of strategic breakthroughs. Construction of Tan Uyen town into a place with a good living environment and harmony of economic growth and environmental protection.

Specifically, the town strives for 100% of new investment projects to be arranged in accordance with the planning to be equipped with an environmental treatment and protection system; 100% of establishments causing serious environmental pollution will be thoroughly sanctioned and it is ensured that no new pollution cases will arise; centralized wastewater drainage and wastewater treatment systems are constructed at 100% of urban areas and new housing areas; 100% of medical solid waste, 99% of urban domestic waste, 30% of urban wastewater are collected and treated; 100% of urban population use clean or hygienic water; 99.6% of rural households have satisfactory sanitation facilities; the coverage rate of forests, forestry trees and perennial industrial plants is maintained at 19%; the ratio of green land in the whole urban area reaches 8.6 square meters a person.

For the time to come, Tan Uyen town will set up road-map to remove operating projects within areas of populated residence.
