The resurgence of Covid-19 pandemic has negatively affected most businesses. At this time, the State’s practical and effective support is an urgent issue to help enterprises maintain operations and overcome challenges gradually.

Setting up effective support plan

In order to realize the "dual goals" of Covid-19 prevention-control and socio-economic development, authorities at all levels and functional sectors of the province are focusing on supporting enterprises to ensure safety for workers. Localities have strengthened inspection on Covid-19 prevention and control in enterprises inside and outside industrial parks. Doan Hong Tuoi, Chairman of Tan Uyen town’s People's Committee  said that the town is focusing on collecting samples from people and workers at lodging facilities for Covid-19 testing, promoting screening and tracing in order to opportunely detect Covid-19 infections in the community. The town has also coordinated with relevant units to collect samples from 9,300 people in Tan Phuoc Khanh ward and 700 workers at Chi Hung Company in Thai Hoa ward for Covid-19 testing. In addition, the town has surveyed and set up additional 8 concentrated isolation sites with 2,300 beds. At the isolation facilities, the town has fully arranged required conditions to be ready to receive cases for isolation.

Efforts for adaptation

Although managing to surmount difficulties amid the complicated developments of Covid-19 pandemic, enterprises still need more urgent support policies. Nguyen Liem, CEO of of Lam Viet Joint Stock Company in Tan Uyen town’s Khanh Binh ward said that the company now has a total of 950 workers and 80% of them are staying  at the company for working. Since June 26, the company has implemented its "three on-site" policy in mobilizing workers to eat, live, work at factories in order to maintain production activities while well realizing measures against the pandemic. Accordingly, the company has created good conditions in terms of eating, living and working for house-workers while conducting quick Covid-19 tests for them.

Whilst, Phan Thi Phuong Linh, Director of Earth Corporation Vietnam Co.,Ltd.’s Personnel and Administration Department in the South Tan Uyen Industrial Park said: “More than 90% of workers are staying at lodging facilities near the company. Therefore, when realizing that the pandemic has entered factories and industrial parks, we had a meeting with workers to get their opinions about staying at the company to work during the pandemic period. As a result, 100% of the company’s workers said ok to the policy. In addition to providing workers with meals, the company will support each person with VND5.5 million for 3 weeks staying at the factory to work, except salary and other allowances. This level of support will be maintained throughout if the pandemic prolongs."
