Realizing that breeding pigeons brings a big profit, Dung has changed to developing the animal husbandry model. In the initial period, he faced many hardships from the model. But, thanks to his own efforts, he overcame all and has so far become the owner of a big-sized pigeon breeding facility in Thuan An town.

It is known that Dung has changed to breeding a variety of pigeon from Thailand, namely TiTan, with bigger profit than others. According to him, it is very easy for farmers to develop the pigeon breeding model. Making facilities to breed this kind of animal is also very simple.

Success

With sufficient techniques plus experience, his family has secured a big profit in the second harvest. He continued investing in a variety of pigeon from French. According to him, this new variety is very suitable to weather conditions in the southern region. Mash and corn are seen as main feed for this kind of animal. To strengthen their resistance, pigeons also need to be supplemented vitamin C and enzyme.

His family now secures a monthly income of around VND70mln-VND80mln from more than 3,000 pairs of pigeon. According to him, restaurants have a great demand for various pigeons. The price of various pigeons is very high at VND50,000 or VND80,000 per fowl. Hence, he is encouraging the local farmers to get involved in the animal husbandry model to develop home based business. He will give support on techniques to develop this model within one month for households buying a big quantity of pigeon for breeding.

Not only the local farmers, staff at Dung’s pigeon breeding facility will be also guided how to breed this kind of animal so that they can set up their own facilities when having enough conditions.
