Socio-economy continues to grow The provincial People's Committee vice chairman Tran Van Nam said that in the first half of this year the provincial People's Committee focused on drastically steering measures to launch resolutions of the Central, provincial party committee, provincial People's Council; to assist enterprises to resume and stabilize production and business. The province's GDP was maintained at a proper growth and social welfare and national defense and security were ensured. The provincial GDP increased 9.5% compared with the same period of the past year, in which industry-construction rose 7.2%, service up 13.2% and agriculture up 1.1%. Meanwhile, industrial production continued growing and reaching a fair growth; industrial development index rose 7.5% from the same period last year; industrial production value estimated at VND81,882bil, up 12.5% against the same period last year. In terms of commerce and service, the total goods retail and service turnover reached VND51,929bil, up 18.5% from the same period last year. The provincial People's Committee also set out 10 contents under the main mission in the final half of this year. Accordingly, the local administration concentrates on effectively implementing solutions to solve difficulties and spur business and production; supporting enterprises to improve losses; stabilizing market; accelerating progress of key projects; monitoring and effectively controlling epidemic diseases; steering effectively work on administration reform; improving the concerted work on political security and social order. Solving obstacles and spurring growth Nguyen Quoc Cuong, vice head of the Economics and Budget Committee under the provincial People's Council said that the provincial People's Committee focuses on launching implementation of resolutions of socio-economic development right from the early year, timely issuing plans to concretize missions and measures close to the local practical situation. In addition, the provincial People's Committee concentrates on steering and managing implementation of the set measures. Departments, agencies make efforts to solving difficulties relating to production and business and executing social welfare policies. The Economics and Budget Committee records and highly appreciates these achievements. The Economics and Budget Committee and the Socio-Culture Committee also assessed that aside from efforts of agencies at all levels are the very motivation of business community as well as basic advantages of macro-economic stability. Additionally, the Economics and Budget Committee and the Socio-Culture Committee under the provincial People's Council basically agreed on 10 contents needed in the final half of this year and asked the provincial People's Committee to focus on synchronously and effectively implementing measures of tax revoke and tax debt control; solving difficulties and shortcomings of the work on site clearance and compensation; spurring settlement of flooding, traffic congestion, among others.
