Gathering farmers, creating orientations for production

Thanks to the attention and help of the local government, Fatherland Front Committee and many other mass organizations together with the regular instruction of the Central Committee of Vietnam Farmers’ Association, provincial Farmers Association focused on building up a strong organization with practical support activities over the past time, helping members rise up out of poverty and get rich, contributing to the local socio-economic development.

86 years since the establishment of Vietnam Farmers’Association, although being in any circumstances, with their creativeness and diligence, farmers together with people in the whole country have created a lot of comprehensive and great achievements in national construction and development, agricultural production emulation and new rural construction, significantly contributing to socio-economic development and constantly improving people’s lives.

Upholding its main role in emulation movements, provincial Farmers Association over the past time made efforts in gathering farmers and promoting sci-tech application among them, contributing to reducing poverty and promoting legitimate enrichment, step by step fostering agriculture, farmers and rural areas towards high quality, effectiveness and productivity. There were many effective emulation movements organized by provincial Farmers Associations at all levels, namely “good farmers in production-business”, “farmers help each other in enrichment and sustainable poverty reduction, “farmers take part in building civilized urban and new rural areas”…

Especially, the emulation movement of “good farmers in production and business” was strongly promoted among members of provincial Farmers Association. It has so far reached development in both depth and width, becoming one of main activities done by the association. Since early this year, 38,105 households have registered to take part in the emulation movement or 122% of the set target.

The association also associated the emulation movement of “building civilized urban lifestyle and new rural areas” with the local targets on socio-economic development by concrete projects. In addition, the association actively mobilized members to join hands in new rural construction; implement the movement of “The entire people consolidate to build cultural lifestyle in residential quarters”; take part in preventing social evils, ensuring social order and security…

Nguyen Hoang Vinh, Chairman of provincial Farmers’Association said: “In the coming time, the association will put focus on mobilizing farmers to actively make the shift of economic structure towards urban, hi-tech and ecological agricultural models in association with processing industry, promoting the local agricultural sector and improving their lives. It will also aim at building up a strong organization to be actually a place to gather farmers and provide them with orientations in production to well realize the Party’s guidelines, the State’s policies and laws.

The whole province now has a total of 87 farmers’ organizations with 534 branches. They have attached special importance to improving the quality of members as well as their activities. They have also implemented many effective support models, contributing to absorbing involvement of more farmers. In addition, they have mobilized members to help each other with more than VND5.6billion, 324 working days, 778 tons of food, foodstuff, commodities, breeding animals, nurslings...valued at more than VND7.4billion; mobilized all resources to eradicate 10 temporary houses; mobilized more than VND91million for farmers hit by saline intrusion, drought, mass fish death…

It is known that provincial Farmers’ Association has organized a variety of support activities on investment capital, breeding animals and nurslings, techniques for farmers while opening short-term vocational classes for them. So far, the association has coordinated with the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies’Binh Duong branch to disburse nearly VND400billion in loan for 23,151 farming households to develop production models. Its Support Fund for Farmers has also amounted to more than VND83billion, providing 4,093 farming households with loan to develop production models…
