Get-together celebrating the 57th anniversary of Phuoc Thanh province’s establishment

Morning June 26, in Tan Uyen town, Traditional Liaison Committee of Phuoc Thanh province held a get-together to mark the 57th anniversary of the foundation of Phuoc Thanh province (old). Nguyen Minh Triet, former Member of Politburo, former President; Huynh Thanh Long, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Council; Dang Minh Hung, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee; Vietnamese heroic mothers and comrades in Traditional Liaison Committee attended the meeting.

57 years ago, on 27 June 1961, at the office of Thu Bien Provincial Party Committee, in Hoc Ong Vu, My Loc commune, Tan Uyen 2 district (now Tan My Commune, North Tan Uyen District) a meeting took place to establish Phuoc Thanh province, including Phu Giao, Tan Uyen, Hieu Liem district, and base zone communes. After more than 5 years of fighting and building, the army and people of Phuoc Thanh province fulfilled their tasks, contributed greatly to the resistance war against American invasion and national liberation.

The heroic spirit, glorious tradition of the army and people of Phuoc Thanh live forever, continue to be a source of encouragement and support today's generation and the future of Binh Duong in general, Tan Uyen, Phu Giao, and North Tan Uyen in particular, in building the old war zone into a civilized, rich and beautiful land.
