GIS projects implemented with efficiency upheld

For GIS application into socio-economic management, the province has built a database at 1:50,000 scale with maps on administration at all levels, actuality of land use, soil, mineral mines, underground water, power, environmental pollution and protection…, thereby bringing benefits to the local administration management work.

Ngo Van Dinh, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Science and Technology said that with its attributes, GIS has helped get assessment of the real situation, prediction for the future, development orientations, effective connection to the issues of socio-economic development, environment in planning for sustainable development. Therefore, it is seen as a support tool to put forward decisions in socio-economic development, national defence-security of countries in the world.
