“Good farmer in production and business” movement promoted in Tan Binh

Tan Binh ward’s Farmers Association in Di An town has over time sped up the emulation movement of “Good farmer in production and business” among members, contributing to promoting the local economic development.  

Bui Van Dep and his model of growing okras with hi-economic efficiency

Under the emulation movement of “Good farmer in production and business”, Tan Binh ward’s Farmers Association in Di An town has shifted the local agricultural structure towards goods production. The association has intensified application of sci-tech advancements into agricultural production, contributing to improving productivity and farm produce quality.

The ward’s Farmers Association has also actively helped its members get loans for economic development. As of October 2013, the whole ward had 207 households getting more than VND3.45trillion in loan; organized 10 classes on sci-tech transfer with 40 or 45 learners each. Many farmers were also very enthusiastic in responding to development programs on hi-quality breeding animals and nurslings, safe vegetables…

Many exemplary role-models have been discovered through the emulation campaign of “Good farmer in production and business”. Bui Van Dep is a typical example for this. He is now well-known as an outstanding farmer with the model of breeding mother cows and growing okras. For achievements done, he has been awarded the title of “Good farmer in production and business” for five consecutive years.

Thanks to application of sci-tech advancements in agricultural production, his models have reached high economic efficiency. His family now breeds 20 mother cows worth VND15mln each. On average, he secures around VND120mln or VND150mln from the model annually.

He has also successfully developed the model of growing okras with high economic efficiency. His annual income from the model is around VND60mln. Many local farmers have also promoted the model and reached high results, helping increase their income and stabilize their lives.

Or, Le Van Hoang, 50, residing at Tan Phu 2 ward is also one of Di An town’s outstanding farmers in the emulation movement of “Good farmer in production and business” for five consecutive years. With the models of growing bitter melons and breeding mother cows, he earns more than VND100mln in annual average  income.

Many effective models such as those of growing bananas, mushrooms…have also been developed from the emulation movement of “Good farmer in production and business”. The emulation movements have contributed to helping members of the local Farmers’ Association rise up. According to Lam Thi Kim Hoa, Vice-Chairwoman of Tan Binh ward’s People’s Committee, the local Farmers Association needs to widely multiply effective models, contributing to promoting the emulation movement…
