After a time, his farm grew well and now has nearly 70 beeves. With the average selling price of 30 million dongs for one adult beef, every year, after subtracting expenses, this model generates a profit of VND250-300 million, and has become one of exemplary farms with high economic profit in the district.

At present, many families in Dau Tieng district have succeeded in high-tech cultivating or breeding models. For example, Le Ngoc An’s farm of oranges and tangerines in Hoa Loc hamlet, Minh Hoa commune has now 1,700 trees on an area of ​​2.5ha. At the selling price of VND 20,000-25,000/kg of oranges, he has an income of nearly VND 1.5 billion each crop; Each year he harvests 4 times. The model of Taiwanese guava of Nguyen Thi Man in Rach Kien hamlet, Thanh Tuyen commune generates nearly 150kg of guavas every day, selling price VND 8,000-10,000/kg. Each hectare of land plant is able to nurture 700 guava plants, the annual average yield per guava tree is about 70kg, annual profit about VND300 million per hectare. After 2 years, her family has intercropped more 130 durian and 500 grapefruit trees.

Results of support policies

From Ms. Man’s model of Taiwanese guava intercropped with durian and grapefruit, many other families in the area came to learn planting techniques, gardening experiences, and were provided with plant variety by Ms. Man. It can be said that this intercropping model have opened a new direction for many farmers to renovate and grow new citrus trees. The good news was that effective agricultural economic models in Dau Tieng District have created stable jobs for thousands of rural laborers. Choosing a right direction, farm owners, with diligence, creativity, and little entrepreneurship, have turned wild, dry lands in Dau Tieng district into green rubber plantations, orchards heavy with fruits, or large breeding farms that bring high economic profits.

In recent years, in order to facilitate the growth of local agricultural economy, in addition to applying common policies, Dau Tieng district approved a master plan for the development of farm economy in urban agriculture, high-tech agriculture associated with processing industry and product consumption in agricultural specialized areas.
