Highlights on development journeys

After more than 92 years of construction and development, the Party Committee of Thu Dau Mot - Song Be - Binh Duong province has always overcome difficulties and challenges, affirming its leadership role and promoting the revolutionary movement of the province. Together with the whole country, with a strong will and determination, with the spirit of solidarity and a close relationship with the people, provincial Party Committee led the local army and people to set up resounding victories during the struggle for national liberation and make a breakthrough during the local socio-economic development process.

"Rising up from mud"

While Vietnamese people were engulfed in a long night of slavery and crisis about the path to save the country, leader Nguyen Ai Quoc, after many years of finding a path to save the country, with a passionate patriotism and love for the people, came to Marxism-Leninism, finding the path to save the country - the path of national liberation and class liberation. He actively spread Marxism-Leninism into the movements of workers and people nationwide.
In Binh Duong, after a period of propaganda and enlightenment, in early 1930, the Communist Party cell was established at Di An train depot. After that, other Party cells were established in turn, namely Phu Rieng, Binh Nham, Lai Thieu, etc. Since being set up, local Party cells gradually brought the masses of workers and peasants to the open fights for close interests on a daily basis, closely coordinating with the common movements. Under the leadership of Party cells, many struggles broke out in Binh Nham, An Thanh, An Son, Lai Thieu, Tan  Khanh, Dau Tieng...

Binh Duong focuses on developing industrial parks, creating a premise for the local economic restructuring

After 15 years, together with the whole country, provincial Party Committee led the people to stand up to take power back to the people with the general uprising in August 1945. The people's uprising in the province contributed to the great victory of the general uprising to seize power in the August Revolution of 1945. For the first time after more than 80 years of being slaves to France and Japan, the people of the locality and nationwide stood up to master their own destiny; smashed the shackles of slavery of the colonial regime and overturned the corrupt henchman feudalism. The Democratic Republic of Vietnam was born, our nation entered a new era - the era of independence, freedom, people's democracy towards socialism.

Successfully leading resistance struggle

Only enjoying the atmosphere of independence and freedom for a short time, the people of Thu Dau Mot, had to join the whole country to wage a war against aggression to protect the national independence and freedom that had just been won after nearly 100 years of slavery. Implementing the "Resistance to build the nation" directive of the Central Party, provincial Party Committee focused on solving immediate and urgent tasks of hunger relief and illiteracy eradication. The province quickly promulgated a number of policies to stabilize the people's life, abolish personal taxes and reduce other taxes to encourage farmers to produce; confiscate the land of landowners, evil-doers, and plantation owners to give them for farmers to cultivate, develop the movement to propagate the national language from before 1945 into a movement to eliminate illiteracy; launched a movement to donate rice and paddy to people in need, especially workers...

After a period of implementing the above policy, the socio-economic situation of the province reached initial stability. People from all stratas actively responded to the policy of the revolutionary government to produce, implement the slogan of "Tac dat, tac vang” (an inch of soil is an inch of gold), restoring their lives, participating in revolutionary movements.

During the resistance war against the US, the US expeditionary force and the vassal army used many malicious conspiracies, tricks and modern means of war to fiercely destroy the revolutionary movement in order to dislodge resistance forces out of the area. Local Party committees at all levels, Party cadres, and armed forces with the support of key units relied heavily on the people, together with the people continuously attacking and rising up, maintaining the area and base, opening strategic corridors to create a springboard to attack Saigon.

The places of War Zone D, Thuan An Hoa, Dau Tieng, Bong Trang, Nha Do, Tam Giac Sat... will forever go into the glorious history of the nation. During the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign, the army and people of the province coordinated smoothly with the army and people of Saigon - Gia Dinh, with the whole South and the whole country to complete the task of liberating the province, contributing to the liberation of the South, the national unification.

Homeland construction

After the South liberation, provincial Party Committee immediately embarked on a new task, leading the entire people to fight poverty and backwardness while urgently building the government, overcoming war consequences, stabilizing people’s lives and move the whole country to socialism. Implementing the Party's renewal policy, the Party and government of the province put forward many creative policies in line with the local specific conditions.

With the policy of "rolling out flower mats to call for investors", Binh Duong has focused on developing industrial parks, creating a premise for the local shift of economic restructure to reach stability and development. The province's advantages have been effectively exploited, creating breakthroughs in the local socio-economic fields. The local Party Committee and people’s innovative thinking has been strongly upheld in new conditions. The local Party Committee’s great decisions, especially in arousing internal resources, attracting talents, giving incentives for investors and developing industrial parks have quickly created a new page in the local development history.

From a purely agricultural and poor province, devastated by war, with a poor infrastructure system, but thanks to knowing how to inherit and promote the achievements of Song Be province in the past; Binh Duong has continued carrying out the local renewal cause, bringing into play comparative advantages, well tapping resources of all economic sectors, creating an open and favorable investment climate. Thanks to the local determination to overcome difficulties, mobilizing synergy, every year, Binh Duong’s economy always has high and stable growth.  The material and spiritual lives of the people have been improved gradually with political security, social order and safety maintained...

With impressive results in socio-economic development over the past 25 years, Binh Duong's development model with innovative ways is a prominent mark during the country's renewal process. Based on the achieved foundation, it is believed that Binh Duong will continue developing sustainably towards a smart, civilized and modern city; strive to become a city under the central management; become a modern industrial hub by 2030, a smart city of the region and the whole country by 2045; join hands with the whole country to realize the vision and goal of turning our country into a developed and high-income country by the middle of the 21st century.
