Update: 09-08-2021 | 18:53:07

The complicated Covid-19 epidemic situation has caused industrial production activities of the province to slow down and decrease compared to the previous month. With the participation of Party committees, authorities, people and efforts from enterprises, production facilities in the area and industrial production of the province is still maintained to take advantage of every opportunity to step by step boost production and business in the new situation. Accordingly, the province's index of industrial production (IIP) in the first 7 months of 2021 still increased by 7.3% over the same period in 2020.

Flexible production maintenance measures

In order to control the situation of the Covid-19 epidemic, the province has implemented for businesses inside and outside industrial parks to register to implement the "3 on the spot" and "1 route, 2 destinations" plans. Up to now, the province has about 3,700 enterprises with about 390,000 workers who have registered for accommodation and production at the factories under the model of "3 on the spot" or "1 route, 2 destinations", contributing to the implementation of the "dual targets" of protecting workers' health and not to "break" production and business activities.

According to Mr. Bui Minh Tri, Head of the Management Board of provincial Industrial Parks, Binh Duong currently has 29 industrial parks of nearly 3,000 projects in operation with 485,671 employees. Disease prevention and control at factories have been raised to the highest level, even some production lines have been halted to minimize the number of workers and carefully control people entering and leaving. For businesses that are eligible to implement the plans, they can continue to operate, and for businesses that cannot afford to apply, they can reduce their scale and implement the distancing. Enterprises, depending on their resources, find the most suitable plan and still ensure safety. “We require businesses to develop a specific scenario when there are cases of infection in the company. Proactive production plan and measures to prevent and control the epidemic are activated at the highest level in association with safe and stable production, which will be an important solution," said Mr. Bui Minh Tri.

By many active support solutions of the province and efforts to overcome difficulties of enterprises, enterprises in the province all have export orders, especially the textile, garment, and wood processing industries have had many signals of flourishes. Some main exporting markets such as the US have been accounted for 32% of the province's total export turnover, Japan 8.4%, South Korea 9.5%, Taiwan 7.2%, Hong Kong 6.8%, showing the ability to maintain market share in difficult times. The source of imported materials is also quite a lot to help businesses maintain the production pace.

It is estimated that the index of industrial production (IIP) in July 2021 decreased by 2.8% compared to the previous month and increased by 5.1% over the same period. In which, the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 5.1%; production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air-conditioning by 17.9%; water supply, waste and wastewater management and treatment activities increased by 11.7%; mining decreased by 32.7% over the same period. Accumulated in the first 7 months of 2021, the index of industrial production (IIP) is estimated to increase by 7.3% over the same period. In which, the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 7.5%; production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air-conditioning by 12.8%; water supply, management and treatment of waste and wastewater by 9.8% over the same period.

Proactive protection of industrial production

Although some positive results have been achieved, the 4th wave of Covid-19 epidemic became more and more complicated, making industrial production activities face many difficulties and challenges. Showing efforts to overcome difficulties, enterprises have built plans to maintain production and business by effectively implementing measures to prevent and control the epidemic at the highest level.

According to Mr. Le Van Minh, Deputy Chairman of the provincial Furniture Association, businesses in the province have proactively made contingency plans to minimize risks and damage and take advantage of opportunities to promote activities. Production and business in the epidemic situation still have complicated and unpredictable developments. In general, in July, enterprises in the province still made efforts to both maintain stable production and business and ensure the health of workers. However, it is important to quickly vaccinate the workforce at factories, this is an important key not to disrupt the production supplying chain and ensure the "3 on the spot" model as safe and effective.

Mr. Mai Hung Dung, Standing Member of the provincial Party Committee, Standing Deputy Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, said that all levels, branches and localities, especially Department of Industry and Trade, Management Board of Industrial Parks in the province continue to promote inspection, supervision and guidance for enterprises to proactively deploy solutions to stabilize production. Along with that, it is urgent to implement Resolution No. 68/NQ-CP dated July 1, 2021 of the government on the implementation of a number of policies to support employees and employers facing difficulties due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The province is trying its best to protect and create conditions for businesses to implement "3 on the site", "1 route, 2 destinations" to ensure disease safety to continue production.
