Industrial production index over the first 5 months increases by 2.1%

According to Provincial Department of Industry and Trade, the province's industrial production index in May 2023 is estimated to increase by 2.7% over the previous month and by 6.9% over the same period last year. In which, the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 2.8% over the previous month and by 7% over the same period last year. Production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air-conditioning equaled 98.6% month-on-month and up 2.6% year-on-year. Water supply, management and treatment of waste and wastewater increased by 2% respectively and 7.6% over the same period last year. Mining decreased by 3.8% month-on-month and by 3.3% year-on-year.

Accumulated over the first 5 months of 2023, the industrial production index is estimated to increase by 2.1% year-on-year, of which the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 2.2% year-on-year.
