Japan tops Binh Duong int’l women’s cycling race

The sixth Binh Duong International Women’s Cycling Tournament-Biwase Cup 2016 concluded yesterday, Mar.16 after cyclists completed the 114km-last stage from Vung Tau city to TDM city.

Dang Thi Ngoc Huyen of Dong Thap finished first in the stage, followed by Grace Phang of Binh Duong and Thiangkaew of Thailand.

Japanese cyclist Kaneko Hiromi secured the yellow jersey for the race’s individual winner. It was followed by Phetdarin Somrat of Thailand, Nguyen Thi That of An Giang, Chanpeng Nontasin of Thailand, Supuksorn Nuntana of Thailand, Sakaguchi Kiyoka of Japan, Dang Thi Ngoc Huyen, Cao Thi Cam Le of Biwase, Salamat Mavela Vania of the Philippines and Nguyen Thi Thi of An Giang.

Japan claimed first place in the team rankings at the tournament with total time of 66:00:31.Second and third places went to Thailand and Binh Duong, respectively.

The red jersey or “Queen of Mountain” title belonged to Nguyen Thi Thi of An Giang. The white shirt for the best young cyclist went to Pham Hong Nhung of Binh Duong, while Japanese Miho Yoshikawa earned the “Miss Beauty” title, or the pink jersey.

This year’s tournament attracted eight local teams and six foreign teams from Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Kazakhstan. Beginning from Mar.3 to 16, the nine-stage tournament covered 839km through Dong Nai, Lam Dong, Khanh Hoa, Binh Thuan and Ninh Thuan, before finishing in Binh Duong province. This prestigious tournament absorbed the attention of countries and concluded successfully.
