On February 15, Nguyen Chi Hieu, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Transport said that under the plan to serve passengers during the Tet (Lunar New Year) 2024, fixed-route buses to the Northern and Southern provinces well implemented transportation plans, meeting the needs of passengers returning home for Tet. Especially, this year, fixed routes to Phu Yen province saw a sudden increase in the number of passengers on the days leading up to Tet.
During Tet, fixed coach and bus routes safely transported nearly 50,000 passengers. Particularly, there were 2,156 fixed-route coach routes, serving more than 37,000 passengers. Only passenger transport by bus made 2,145 trips, serving 11,480 passengers. It is predicted that from the 7th of Tet onwards, the number of passengers will begin to increase, due to an increase on the need to return to Binh Duong to work. Units are also implementing plans to welcome workers returning to Binh Duong after the Tet holiday.
During the Tet holiday, provincial Department of Transport did not receive any complaints from people via the hotline about transport business units charging higher fares than the listed ones...
The traffic order and safety situation on roads, railways and inland waterways during the 7 days of Tet was maintained stably, smoothly and safely. There were no particularly serious traffic accidents in the entire province. At the bus stations, the security and order situation was guaranteed. At the passenger stations across the river, there are no traffic jams and strict compliance with the provisions of law on inland waterway traffic.
