Ho Van Binh, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Industry and Trade said that the province’s price stabilization program has contributed to ensuring food safety and quality with reasonable prices, thereby wining customers’ faith. Especially, province-based businesses have actively participated in the program on the occasion of the annual Tet (Lunar New Year) festival.

During the 2015 Tet festival, province-based businesses implemented the price stabilization program with total revenue of more than VND466bln, surpassing 11.5% of the set plan. Along with selling goods with stabilized price at their units, participating businesses organized 55 mobile sales trips in rural communes and at industrial parks, compounds in the province. It is expected that around 12 businesses will participate in the program on the upcoming Tet festival.

Locals have felt very excited with the program as it has focused on essential commodities like fresh and processed foods, foodstuff…with reasonable prices. Mobile sales trips under the program were also organized in inter-communal places over the past time. Other thing was that participating businesses have attached special importance to the quality of service in accordance with the instruction of the province.

For the program further upholding its efficiency, provincial Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT) has planned to stockpile commodities for 2016’s market stabilization. The goals of the plan are to balance supply and demand for some essential commodities at businesses and locals’ production and daily life; stockpile commodities in order to take care of locals in association with the campaign of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods”.

The plan also aims to control over the market prices to stabilize the prices of essential commodities; ensure selling prices that are 5%-10% lower than market levels at each period; well organize distribution systems at all levels to stimulate demand and increase purchasing power from locals…

Also under the plan, the province’s total preferential loan for businesses participating in the program before, during and after the 2016 Tet festival is expected to be VND30bln. Provincial DoIT suggested that participating businesses must ensure supply of goods for Tet and make their price stabilization for goods that they have registered to participate in the program…
