Ly Hoang Nam wins gold medal at Asian Youth Games

Source from Tran Duc Quynh, main coach of Binh Duong’s tennis team, young Vietnamese tennis player Ly Hoang Nam (photo) won a gold medal in the boys’ event at the 2013 Asian Youth Games, which is taking place in Nanjing, China. 

Ly Hoang Nam had an excellent performance in the final match of the boys’ event at the sports festival. He defeated his Filipino rival Mendoza Zosimo 2-1. Nam lost the first set to Mendoza Zosimo 6-7 but managed to reverse the situation in the remaining two sets with the same score 7-5 to win the final victory with 2-1.

Nam is ranked 142nd on the world junior table, while Mendoza Zosimo is No 89. The above result has been his greatest achievement so far and he has also become the first Vietnamese tennis player of winning a gold medal at Asian Youth Games.

Leaders of Vietnam Tennis Federation, Binh Duong’s sports sector and Becamex IDC also sent congratulations to Vietnamese sports delegation and Ly Hoang Nam for his special achievement at the 2013 Asian Youth Games.
