Management on farm produce quality on Tet focused

Update: 20-06-2014 | 14:09:37

Items of agro-forestry and aquatic products for the upcoming Tet include products of cattle, poultry, fresh veggies and fruits and so on. On Tet holiday, when demand increases highly, some traders often seek out measures to sell poor quality goods, so functional agencies have concrete plans to control the illegal deeds.

Accordingly, Binh Duong Bureau of quality management of agro-forestry and aquatic products will be the direct unit to implement measures. As planned, from Jan. 2-31, 2013, the bureau will launch inspections across areas with high risks of poor quality goods business.

Dinh Thien Thuan, head of the provincial bureau of quality management of agro-forestry and aquatic products, said though Binh Duong has implemented slaughtering planning and hygiene assurance, the work’s biggest restriction lies in low awareness on preservation and transport.

According to database of the provincial bureau of quality management of agro-forestry and aquatic products, the excessive rate of plant protection chemicals in fruits and veggies in the province for the 2011-2012 period is higher than 1%. The result is thanks to well implementation of promulgations on food safety and hygiene.

In addition, Binh Duong has formed up clean and safe vegetable growing areas to supply for markets and supermarkets. Many people assess that Binh Duong’s fruits and veggies are better than Da Lat’s products.

According to Dinh Thien Thuan, management on processing items such as dried fruits and candied fruits made by small production workshops is very difficult. The workshops’ products have low price and quality.

“We will make greater efforts to excel the set plans. Therefore, If finding out poor quality products, customers should inform functional agencies”, Thuan added.
