Many activities to take Tet care for trade unionists and workers with difficult circumstances

Early January 28, Di An city’s Labor Union organized the Tet Reunion - Spring Sharing" program to take care of the material life of trade unionists and workers who could not afford to return home for Tet while supporting train and bus tickets for hundreds of other workers to return home to celebrate Tet and reunite with their families.

At the event, leaders of provincial Labor Union gave 85 train tickets for trade unionists and workers to return home to celebrate Tet in the Northern provinces. Di An city gave 2,500 gifts worth VND 1 million each for workers who did not have enough money to return home for Tet. The city’s Labor Union offered 3,000 gifts to trade unionists and workers with difficult circumstances; donated 70 bus tickets to disadvantaged workers to return home for Tet in the Central Highlands and Western provinces with the theme of "Spring bus  of gratitude"; provided transportation fare for 320 disadvantaged workers to return home to celebrate Tet in the Central and Northern provinces; gave 100 gifts for disadvantaged workers; donated 200 pairs of “banh chung” and “banh tet” to workers who could not afford to return home for Tet at boarding houses, gave 51 gifts for workers with fatal illness, 34 gifts for workers suffering from labor accidents and occupational diseases.

On this occasion, Di An city’s Labor Union handed over 3 "Trade Union Shelters" to Nguyen Thi Sa Ro of Thong Nhat Kindergarten’s trade union local; Nguyen Phuong Trang of SGX Co.Ltd.’s trade union local; Nguyen Thi Thu Thao of Hoang Nhan Co., Ltd.’s trade union local. The total amount of support for the above 3 houses was VND 180 million, funded by the local units and the remainder from these families.

*Previously, on the evening of January 27, Ben Cat town’s Labor Union coordinated with the Trade Union of Ben Cat town-based Industrial Parks to organize the "Trade Union Tet Market" program to create a playground during Tet, giving thousands of gifts for the local trade unionists and workers.

 

The "Trade Union Tet Market" program took place on January 27 and 28, with hundreds of essential items sold at preferential prices. Workers also had an opportunity to participate in folk games and enjoy the local cuisine. The organization board also offered 2,000 free shopping vouchers at the market and 120 gifts to trade unionists and workers with difficult circumstances.

Le Nguyen Thanh Binh, Chairman of Ben Cat town’s Labor Union said that the unit also organized delegations to visit, offer Tet greetings and gifts from  the local budget sources to trade unionists and workers with difficult circumstances and fatal illness; donate 1,500 gifts worth VND 1.5 billion from social mobilization sources, 1,500 gifts from the budget of the superior trade union and 27,000 gifts worth over VND 10 billion from the budget of the grassroots trade union to these laborers.

Along with that, the town's Labor Union organized the "2024 Spring Gratitude Bus" program, bringing trade unionists and workers with difficult circumstances back to their hometowns for Tet. For workers who do not return to their hometowns, the town’s Trade Unions at all levels will organize warm and joyful spring activities to welcome Tet in Binh Duong.

At the event, the Trade Union of provincial Textile and Garment sector donated 400 Tet gifts worth VND 1 million each to trade unionists and workers. The unit also gave 20 gifts worth VND 2 million each together with necessities and 47 spring train tickets to workers returning to their hometowns in the Northern provinces for Tet...
