Meaning of Ky Yen festival in Di An communal house

The Management Board of Di An communal house in Di An city’s Di An ward has just held the Ky Yen festival 2022 with traditional rituals. This is a meaningful cultural activity, imbued with national traditional culture. The festival is held with the meaning of praying for national peace, prosperity, happiness for the people.

Di An communal house is a national architectural and artistic relic. Ky Yen festival is also one of the province’s valuable intangible cultural heritages which are being made a scientific dossier to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in order to be named in the list of national intangible cultural heritages.

This year, Di An communal house is held for 5 consecutive days (from December 8 to 12) with many such traditional festival rituals as the annual ceremony worshiping the “Ngu hanh” (five elements) goddess, the sacrifice ceremony to heroes and martyrs...
