The couple of Bo Thi Soi and Pham Van Dung were revolutionists being imprisoned by the enemy from the days of war to independence day. The teapot cover made by Mrs. Bo Thi Soi during her time of imprisonment in Binh Duong Their ideology is the love for their homeland and they could not be happy on their own in wartime. They became the brave revolutionists royal to revolutionary assignments.Mr. Pham Van Dung (or Pham Duc Ngo as his allias) took part in the revolutionary uprisings ever since 1945 before being captured as political prisoner in prisons of Binh Duong, Chi Hoa, and Con Dao from 1967 to 1975.His wife, Mrs. Bo Thi Soi was prompted to hatred of the US Army. She attended organizations which helped to cover officers and feed up logistic team No. 814 during wartime against the US Army. On December 22, 1970, she was uncovered by a spy; however, after 2 years of imprisonment, the enemy decided to release her.The memories of prison time was impressed on a 73 by 117 cm flag with a yellow star on cyan and red background.During the time in prison, she made a lot of items as a way to inform that she was very much alive with the hope of final victory.Of the special items, she made a teapot cover in a very eye-catching style by stitching colorful cloth to create a bloom of 13.5 by 2 cm showing off 5-petal apricot flower.Meantime, Mr. Pham Van Dung embroidered dragon and phoenix on white pillow covers.The items they made out of hope for freedom and for the peacetime of the nation. On liberation day, the couple of Bo Thi Soi and Pham Van Dung was rejoiced with their reunion.On March 05, 1997, President of Socialist Republic of Vietnam signed Decision No. 1172 to award a medal of resistance war against the US Army.Reported by Ngoc Trinh – Translated by Vi Bao
