North Tan Uyen gets animated with youth works

In 2020, revolutionary action movements, programs of North Tan Uyen district’s Youth Union reached improvements with animated activities in association with the local youth’s need and benefit. Many youth works were implemented in a diverse way, meeting the local real situation.

Grassroots volunteer squads

One of highlights in the teenagers and children’s movements of North Tan Uyen district in 2020 was to instruct 100% of Youth Union branches to build on-site volunteer squads and introduce outstanding Youth Union members to district-level volunteer squads. The district’s Youth Union also boosted volunteer activities during the “Spring volunteer” campaign, the Youth Month, the “Summer Youth Volunteer” campaign, the “Giving strength to examination season” campaign, absorbing numerous Youth Union members and people from all strata.

The local Youth Union members also actively got involved in civilized urban and news-style rural construction with such practical activities as making environmental hygiene, growing and tending youth flower gardens…The Youth Union branches at communal and township level of the district also well realized the campaign of “Young people joining hands in new-style rural construction”. They carried out 44 youth works with a total expense of more than VND540million.

Do Ngoc Loi, Secretary of North Tan Uyen district’s Youth Union said that the district’s Youth Union branches were conducted to carry out volunteer activities on protecting the environment and combating climate change. Accordingly, they actively got involved in making environmental hygiene; clearing canals, sewers; tending green trees and launching the movement of “Each Youth Union plants a green tree”…

Taking care of teenagers, children

The district’s Youth Union also excelled at coordinating with relevant units in taking care of teenagers and children. Accordingly, the district’s Youth Union organized a series of propaganda programs on the amended Labor Code, prevention of crimes, drugs, fire, child abuse and traffic safety among teenagers and children at schools, lodging facilities and enterprises.

In addition, the district’s Youth Union worked with relevant units to offer 3 houses of compassion worth VND180million to teenagers and children with difficult circumstances in Tan Dinh and Thuong Tan communes; carried out 4 “lighting rural road” works worth VND135million in Tan Dinh, Tan Lap and Hieu Liem communes. The district’s Youth Union also presented 2 recreational areas for children worth VND150million to Lac An, Dat Cuoc and Binh My communes and awarded 90 “green dream” scholarships to poor-but-excellent pupils; teamed up with provincial Police Agency’s Youth Union to visit, encourage and support backward youths to integrate back into the community, offer stable jobs to them, helping them rise up in life.

In 2020, the district’s Youth Union also organized 10 journeys “Following the tradition for sustainable future” to “red addresses” in and out of the province, including the relic site of the “Bong Trang-Nha Do” Victory Monument, Huynh Van Nghe memorial site, Rach Gam-Xoai Mut relic, Phu Loi prison relic…on the occasion of the 90^th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and in celebration of Party congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 tenure. The whole district held 32 “lighting dreams of North Tan Uyen’s youth” programs; provided Youth Union branches with 30 wastebaskets and donated 69 benches to hamlets, quarters ‘offices…

With good coordination from units, the district’s Youth Union was proactive to carry out revolutionary action programs in association with Youth Union members’demand and benefit, thereby contributing to taking care of their spiritual and material lives, according to Mr.Loi.
