North Tan Uyen is home to over 1,810 hectares of citrus fruits-growing area

With its favorable conditions on weather and soil, North Tan Uyen district has reached robust development in terms of citrus fruits-growing models with high economic efficiency.

The district has so far formed up specialized areas on citrus fruits with more than 1,810 hectares, mainly in communes of Tan Dinh, Hieu Liem, Lac An, Thuong Tan and Tan My. There are 43 farms on citrus fruits with more than 700 hectares. Some farmers have also built their own brand names such as Phuong Uyen pomelo, Tan My fruit cooperative…

On the average output and average for citrus fruits in the third harvest season, pomelo reaches 18 tons per hectare with income of VND900million; orange, 50 tons per hectare with VND1.2billion; tangerine, 45 tons per hectare with VND1.1billion, according to the district’s Farmers’ Society.
