In terms of the mid-term preliminary report on implementing the high-tech agricultural development program for the period of 2020-2025, North Tan Uyen district’s People's Committee said that the results of implementing targets in the area were quite good compared to the plan. Of which, the estimated value of agricultural and forestry production in 2023 reached nearly VND 2.9 trillion, an average annual increase of 4.67%.
Of these, cultivation accounted for 76.90% of total while animal husbandry accounted for 23.10% of total. Currently, the district’s area for citrus fruit trees is 2,758 hectares, an increase of 442 hectares, and equivalent to 19% over the same period. To date, the district's VietGAP and GlobalGAP certified farming land has reached 293 hectares, an increase of 90 hectares compared to 2020 (corresponding to 44.34% of total).
In the remaining half of the tenure, the district will focus on reviewing, developing and adjusting plans in the field of agriculture and forestry, integrating them into sectoral plans and provincial plans for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. The district will further restructure the agricultural sector towards modern, specialized, large-scale agriculture, ensuring food safety based on the application of advanced science and technology.
