Over VND4.3bln spent on supporting needy cases

On January 15, TDM city’s Red Cross Society held a conference to review its activities in 2014 and define orientations, tasks through 2015.

The city’s Red Cross Societies at all levels last year offered help of more than VND4.3bln to 17,657 needy cases. They also continued well realizing public healthcare. Particularly, they teamed up with relevant agencies to provide free medical check-up and medicine for the poor and policy beneficiaries with a total expense of more than VND2.9bln.

They has so far set up 99 fire-aid points, 14 mobile first-aid teams with 174 members. Last year, they also organized 5 voluntary blood donation stages with 1,153 units of blood…

In 2015, the city’s Red Cross Society will further make dissemination of information about voluntary blood donation; promote the campaign of “Each organization, individual should stick to an humanitarian address”; mobilize organizations and individuals to offer help to policy beneficiaries, people with difficulties and poor-but-excellent pupils; cooperate with sectors and mass organizations to well realize its functions, contributing to taking care of locals’ material and spiritual lives.
