Phu Giao district’s communes to meet new rural criteria in 2015

Under the National Target Program on New Rural Construction between 2010 and 2015, Tan Long commune in Phu Giao district has so far reached 17 out of 19 criteria on new rural construction and will strive to fulfill its target of becoming a pilot new rural commune in 2013.

The district’s remaining 7 communes of Tam Lap, Tan Hiep, Phuoc Sang, An Thai, An Linh and An Long (except Phuoc Vinh township and 2 communes of Vinh Hoa and Phuoc Hoa) have also completed 5 to 15 criteria on new rural construction. They have basically finished their plans for new rural construction.

Ngo Duc Thanh, Deputy Head of Phu Giao district’s Department of Economics said that the total investment capital for the district’s 8 communes with new rural construction from 2011 to 2012 was more than VND207.7bln. In 2013 alone, the demand for investment capital to implement the new rural construction program in the 8 communes is more than VND755bln, more than VND2281 of which is used for Tan Long commune to fulfill 19 criteria on new rural construction.

As planned, Tan Long commune will meet new rural criteria in 2013 while the remaining 7 communes will fulfill them in 2015.
