Phu Giao’s economy obtains stable growth

Since early this year, Phu Giao district’s economy, especially agricultural sector has faced difficulties, due to the impacts of weather bad, rubber latex price at low level, epidemic diseases in crop plants and domestic animals, especially African-hog cholera. But, with the efforts by the local Party, government and people, the district has still maintained stable growth.

Since early this year, Phu Giao district’s People’s Committee has focused on the realization of the Plan No.35/KH-UBND dated March 1 implementing the Government’s Resolution No.01/NQ-CP on main tasks and solutions for carrying out the socio-economic development plan and the State budget estimates for 2019; the Resolution of the district’s Party Committee and People’s Council on socio-economic development, national defence-security for 2019.

Accordingly, the district has disseminated tasks, targets on socio-economic development among sectors, mass organizations and localities; effectively applied policies, solutions in line with the local real situation…Upon this, since early this year, the district’s economy has reached many major results. The district’s agro-forestry production value has gained more than VND2.95trillion, a year-on-year increase of 7.2%. The district has also attached special importance to hi-tech agricultural models. The whole district is now home to 209 agricultural farmsteads, comprising of 113 with hi-tech application. Among these 113 hi-tech farmsteads, there are 17 with VietGap certificates.

The total revenue of district-based farmsteads is more than VND1.7trillion a year. Over the past ten months, the district established additional 12 farmsteads on poultry breeding, up 13 compared to the corresponding period last year. The district has so far also formed up fruit tree-growing areas of around 800 hectares with hi-economic efficiency.

The district’s production value of industry and home industry over the past ten years was more than VND2.87trillion, up 14.15% against the same period last year. The district’s total retail revenue sales value of commodities and services was more than VND4.07trillion, up 15.19% compared to the corresponding period last year.

Also during the period, there were additional 42 companies set up with a total registered capital of approximately VND167billion. The district’s State budget collection was more than VND249billion or 89% of the year’s plan. The district has also urgently carried out public investment projects with a total volume so far reaching over VND235.3billion or 59% of the adjusted plan and disbursement value of over VND214billion or 54% of the adjusted plan.

The district has also bent on new-style rural area building. Till now, all 10 communes of the district have been recognized as new-style rural ones. The district is making efforts to reach criteria of a new-style rural district by the end of 2019.

Doan Van Dong, Chairman of the district’s People’s Committee said that from now till year-end, the district’s People’s Committee will concentrate on directing the instruction of redressing obstacles; further keep a watch on African-hog cholera and minimize losses from African-hog cholera while planning to restore the local pig herds after the epidemic disease. The district will also set up a plan making coherence in farm produce consumption; continue taking major measures, tasks in a synchronous way; further improve the local investment climate, promoting production-business in association with the local development orientations…
