Phu Giao strengthens management of food safety and hygiene

Over the past years, thanks to dissemination and mobilization of all level authority and high awareness of business workshops, food processing and trade in Phu Giao district has gone steady operation. Many food business units in Phu Giao district have seriously obeyed regulations on food safety and hygiene.

Traders’ good awareness on food safety and hygiene

 

The provincial inspection board of food safety and hygiene led by Pham Van Bong, vice director of the provincial department of Agriculture and Rural Development just paid a working session with Phu Giao district administration. At the working session, the inspection board worked with Phu Giao district steering board of food hygiene and safety and paid a survey to some food processing and business facilities in the district.

 

At Binh Rau restaurant in Phuoc Vinh township, the inspection board checked kitchen and food processing of the restaurant. Nguyen Thi Dao, manager of the restaurant said “We have many experienced years of food safety and hygiene. Our dishes not only are delicious but ensure hygiene and food safety to enhance our prestige”.

 

Aside from restaurants, eateries and street food shops, food processing workshops are also one of hot area of food hygiene and safety. Thang Hao steamed pork roll workshop in Phuoc Vinh township daily offers hundreds of kilograms of steamed pork roll and sausage and meat roll and so on for market. Therefore, this is one of food business workshops under constant inspection of Phu Giao district functional agencies. Nguyen Van Thang, the owner of Thang Hao steamed pork roll workshop said “We produce food products without harmful chemicals. Our materials are from local prestigious slaughterhouses. Therefore, our products have won trust from clients for many years”.

 

Dissemination strengthened

 

At present, the whole of Phu Giao district has had 294 food processing and business workshops and 318 street food shops under management of the district level.

 

Realizing importance on food safety and hygiene, Phu Giao district steering board of food safety and hygiene has targeted to raise consciousness on food safety and hygiene for local people and food processors.

 

Apart from inspections, the steering board has paid much attention to dissemination and mobilization on food safety and hygiene. Annually, aside from launching the Month for food safety and hygiene, the district administration grants over VND100mil to dissemination on food safety and hygiene.

 

Doan Van Dong, vice chairman of Phu Giao district People’s Committee added “Though Phu Giao is not an industrial district, the locality still considers food safety and hygiene as a top task. Therefore, food business and trade are under good operation. Over the past formative years, there are no food poisonings or violations of food safety and hygiene happened at the district”.
