PPC’s Deputy Chairman Tran Thanh Liem: Boosting credit growth while ensuring the compliance with the Government, sectorial regulations

Morning Jan 19, State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) - Binh Duong branch organized a conference to disseminate banking sector’s missions in 2016. Tran Thanh Liem, Deputy Chairman of provincial People’s Committee, presided at the meeting.

On behalf of SBV’s Governor, Tran Thanh Liem, Deputy Chairman of provincial People’s Committee, conferred the emulation flag on An Thanh People's Credit Fund

In 2015, along with the socioeconomic development, activities of credit institutions in the province achieved good results on all aspects. Namely, total mobilized funds by the end of 2015 reached 115,582 billion VND, up 19.39% compared with 2014; total outstanding loans reached 95,186 billion VND, up 20.38%, which was a higher growth rate than the national average rate of 13.59%. In addition, credit institutions and branches reduced lending interest rate for existing loans in order to remove business’s difficulties, motivate production activities.

Addressing at the conference, Mr. Liem appreciated achievements of the banking sector in Binh Duong province. He said, the bad debt decrease by 1,040 billion VND (making up 1.1% total outstanding loans) was a good sign. He also stressed, in 2016, credit institutions need to be more flexible in approaching, disbursing loans to customers, especially businesses; enhance credit growth so that all businesses can take out loans, while ensuring the compliance with the Government, sectorial regulations; implement well monetary policies in order for provincial banking system to develop efficiently and safely…

On this occasion, the Governor of SBV conferred the flag of “Leading unit in 2014 emulation movements” on An Thanh People's Credit Fund. In addition, SBV Binh Duong branch commended excellent collectives, individuals in 2015 banking activities.
