At the survey, leaders of Binh Duong Provincial Department of Transport reported on the feasibility study of the investment project to build the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway through Binh Duong province. Namely, the project is executed in Thuan An, Tan Uyen cities, and Bac Tan Uyen, Phu Giao, and Bau Bang districts, with a total length of about 52.1km. Which phase 1 invests in a highway with 4 lanes, with continuous emergency lanes along the entire route, a roadbed width of 25.5m, and a design speed of 100km/h. The first section of the route, 6.5km long, from Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 to Khanh Van intersection, will be kept intact according to the current cross-section scale. The project is invested according to public-private partnership (PPP), build-operate-transfer (BOT) contracts, with a total estimated investment of VND8,833 billion.
Speaking at the survey, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stressed that the expressway must form and expand development space, especially connecting with Long Thanh international airport, Ring Road 4, etc.; intersections must ensure connectivity and aesthetics.
